Yep!  Kent's designs work great.  I've used them for roving in UHF
contests up through 1296 Mhz.  My son and I made a couple short 70cm
units and used them for a while with great success tracking rockets.  I
had some teflon SMA cables from a hamfest table that we cut short pieces
From to solder on at the feedpoint, which makes them a great match for a
TeleDongle.
