Keith,
I did as requested--installed Java v7 and then downloaded the AltosUI 1.4 from 
website.  I got the same response when executing the 1.4 program--it wants to 
download Java 1.7 and then times out and terminates without installing the 
software.  Please advise.

Yeah, looks like the link I used for the Java download doesn't actually
work for everyone. Head on over to the 'official' Java download page at
java.sun.com and download java 6 or java 7 before starting the AltosUI
installation and you should be good to go.

The Altos download doesn't (yet) include the signed driver as I haven't
finish verifying that it actually helps anyone yet. However, I suspect
you'll want to download and install that piece *after* you install the AltOS
package.
