Ok,
Did an outdoor test with the D72A with direct wire interface to a Garmin 60Cs
mapping GPS and the TeleGPS.For some weird reason, the performance accuracy was
better when I changed to TeleGPS to send uncompressed packets with the 1.6.0.1
firmware and the 1.6.0 setup software.  I was seeing between 10-30 foot
accuracy which was quite a bit better than the 100-150 foot accuracy with the
compressed packets.  Now, this was using an APRS rig and NOT the dedicated
receiver dongle.  Some might prefer to use a handheld receiving/tracking
solution as opposed to a laptop due to ease of mobility. I really like the size
of the TeleGPS as it will fitinto a much smaller space than a BeelineGPS  I
don't know if sending the uncompressed packets would affect the telemetry side
of the TeleGPS so one who does have the donglecould experiment and see.    When
I used a Mobilinkd TNC interfaced to a Nexus 7 and APRSDroid, the accuracy was
just fine with the compressed packets so go figure.  Anyhow, I'm ecstatic about
being able to use the TeleGPS in a MD 38mm project.  Kurt Savegnago KC9LDH
