Keith,
  You should mention this is an issue with any commercial GPS receiver and not 
a particular characteristic of your product.If flying at high speed, this sort 
of behavior can be seen with any commercial GPS unit.  Bottom line is once it 
slows down, one will still be able to find their rocket.  That's want counts!

This entirely depends on whether the GPS receiver loses lock due to
acceleration. Higher acceleration generally makes the situation worse,
but sometimes even modest acceleration can cause this.
