Yes. Consider yourself lucky. You are getting to practice with using your system before you really need it. When it does come down out of sight a mile away you'll be ready.

Be careful what you wish for!  The rocket gods have been known to
"reward" such hubris with things like broken battery or switch wires at
apogee...
