If the power was interrupted, the GPS receiver might have been forced to
do a cold start instead of a warm start, which can mean a half minute or
so instead of a few seconds.

GPS lock time can also be dramatically impacted by metal going over the
top of the GPS patch antenna.  Once your ebay got mangled, I wouldn't be
surprised if either some wires or a piece of all-thread or something
ended up in proximity to the patch causing it to be de-tuned which can
take lock time to minutes or more.
