So there's no such thing as an "ip list"? Ok.
Well, I'm still a bit confused. Lookup and reverse lookup both works. However, all
clients have two NICs, and this might be where amanda gets confused...

Address: 10.0.1.100

Name: amclient.the_domain_I_use
This should work, right? However, I can also do:
> nslookup 10.0.0.100
Name: amclient.the_domain_I_use
Where does amanda get the ip address 10.0.0.100 in the first place? (I know this might
be a "how should we know???"-question, but if so, please tell me.) Nslookup certainly
doesn't give that. It gives...
AHA!!!!! In my /etc/hosts-file on amclient, THAT'S where it is!!!! I'll just change
that...
I'll be quiet now. Thank you for your patience. Maybe this can help someone else in
the same situation.
