Yes, as follows:

   Nov 15 08:30:59 waves scsi: [ID 365881 kern.info] /pci@1f,4000/scsi@4/st@0,0
        (st14):

> Nope -- using the sgen driver allows access as any user.

It's suppose to, but sgen@1,0:changer installs with permissions
'crwx------ root sys', so you have to change permissions to give
'sys' access (assuming your amanda user is in 'sys').

After boot /dev has the following links:
   /dev/scsi/changer/c2t1d0 -> /devices/pci@1f,4000/scsi@4/sgen@1,0:changer
   /dev/rmt/0 -> /devices/pci@1f,4000/scsi@4/st0,0:
   /dev/rmt/0b -> /devices/pci@1f,4000/scsi@4/st0,0:b
               :
               :

I changed permissions to all 'crwxrwxrwx root sys' for now.

What about "inquiry-config-list" in sgen.conf.h.

I don't know if anyone else has a StorEdge L280, but it's a strange little
breast, so I expect to have problems. First it has a 6 slot removeable
cart. with 2 slots hidden behind the cart. (don't ask me why, I'd much prefer
the 7 slot removable cart. like they use to use). Second it has 3 modes of
operation "Automatic", "Stacker", and "Random" so you can choose between
acting like a gravity feed unit or a normal robot (I have it in "Random"
right now).
