I had already completed those steps. The mtx load and unload commands
work fine, but mtx next causes a SCSI bus reset and returns an error
status although the next tape was loaded. I have the same problem with
mtx-1.1 and mtx-1.2.9 (although the errors are reported slightly
differently). Here is a sample from mtx-1.1:
[root@amanda ~]# mtx -f /dev/sg4 unload
Unloading Data Transfer Element into Storage Element 2...done
[root@amanda ~]# mtx -f /dev/sg4 load 4
Loading Storage Element 4 into Data Transfer Element...done
[root@amanda ~]# mtx -f /dev/sg4 next
Unloading Data Transfer Element into Storage Element 4...done
Loading Storage Element 5 into Data Transfer Element...mtx: Request
Sense: 70 00 02 00 00 00 00 14 00 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
mtx: MOVE MEDIUM from Element Address 6 to 1 Failed
The error says the move failed, but in fact address 6 is loaded right
now.
