Hello,
I have read that AMANDA can not handle backup "images"
larger than a single tape. If that is true, what is the
point of a tape changer? Is it just to change tapes between
backup images/days?
My current backup method is to use dump with an expect script
written around it, which calls a perl script that I wrote to
change tapes each time it asks for a new tape. It's not the
best way of doing things, and I'd like to use amanda, but I have
a 60GB hard drive to back up, with an ADIC 12-tape autoloader
(DDS-2 4/8GB tapes).
Am I correct in my understanding that AMANDA won't work for me?
