You can specify the version number --with-testing=242 and then
leave anything running. There is no need to reinstall it.
I wouldn't even bother to uninstall 2.4.0 for some time and always
make sure to have a fallback.
If you want to try Amanda 2.5 some day, you can play the game again
and configure --with-testing=25 :-)
