The tapetype program is only used for determining characteristics of
new tape hardware (as in, some vendor just announced a new box).  If you
already know the right values, either from your previous device or the FAQ
or the mailing list or guesswork :-), there is no need to run tapetype.

Since Amanda won't be using the second tape drive for backups, you don't
need to tell it about it.

The Amanda software that does restores (amrestore and amrecover) does
not use tapedev from amanda.conf.  It accepts any device name as an arg
on the command line, so you can use either device for that.

If you set up another config to do (e.g.) monthly backups, you could
point that one at the second device via its tapedev.

No, you'll just have the one tapedev entry pointing at the one drive
that Amanda will use with this configuration for backups.

Just for my own curiosity, why are you using the BSD device name ('b')?
