Hi John,
Nope I'm sure we're using DDS-2 tapes, as they're purchased with the DAT
drive.
> mt -f /dev/nst0 stat
drive type = Generic SCSI-2 tape
drive status = 603979776
sense key error = 0
residue count = 0
file number = 18
block number = 0
Tape block size 0 bytes. Density code 0x24 (DDS-2).
Soft error count since last status=0
General status bits on (81010000):
EOF ONLINE IM_REP_EN
I hope Amanda do not have a bug in 2.4.1p1 that treat DDS-2 tape become
DDS-1?
Perhaps I should goto check the firmware update or the tapes. :(
Best Regards,
Charles

According to the HP web site, that drive is a DDS-2 and should be able
to do 4 GBytes native with DDS-2 media, but 2.6 GBytes if you use DDS-1
catridges. Any chance you're using DDS-1 tapes?

Correct.
