What does that tell me:

"fatal changer error: slot <error>: Changer is already in use at
/usr/local/libexec/amanda/chg-glue line 104"

amcheck fails, even after manually loading a tape with mtx:

ama...@juno:~> mtx -f /dev/sg1 load 3
ama...@juno:~> amcheck -s eag
Amanda Tape Server Host Check
-----------------------------
Holding disk /mnt/amhold/eag: 6000 MB disk space available, using 5900 MB
fatal changer error: slot <error>: Changer is already in use at
/usr/local/libexec/amanda/chg-glue line 104
(expecting tape EAG153 or a new tape)
Server check took 3.027 seconds

(brought to you by Amanda 2.6.1)

-- But "mtx status" works so far:

ama...@juno:~> mtx -f /dev/sg1 status
  Storage Changer /dev/sg1:1 Drives, 24 Slots ( 0 Import/Export )
Data Transfer Element 0:Full (Storage Element 3 Loaded):VolumeTag =
EAG154L4
      Storage Element 1:Full :VolumeTag=CLN071L1
      Storage Element 2:Full :VolumeTag=ABT414L4
      Storage Element 3:Empty
      Storage Element 4:Full :VolumeTag=EAG155L4

[...]

I also checked for any old amanda-processes, none found, so I don't know
why the changer should be in use ....

thanks, Stefan
