I was thinking along those lines, just in a much less sophisticated
mannor. When I spoke Dan at my site about this he recalled that the
Orcale manager set some kind of resource controls on oracle on one
machine a couple of years back.

If so that may resolve the current problem on one of my machines.

The other machine doesn't run oracle, so those switches, even if
they work will be just plain unavailable. We'll have to find a
ZFS based solution or perhaps find a way to subdivide the DLE and
create multiple mount points.

Dan - I do mean mount points and not multiple DLEs by using
include/excludes like we did on systems with large DLE but
relatively small tapes.

Dan - you received the new storage unit for cascade, I don't
think we implemented the new storage yet, separate pools for
amanda-work and the zpool under amanda control has to be a
step in the right direction.

                                                thanks,

                                                Brian
