First, I should clarify my previous comment: The basic issue is that "I'm out of the office" messages may only be sent when the person's address is in the To or CC header. For mailinglist mail such as this message, that is true only for Gene.
What I meant is that because I sent a message that was To: Gene and CC: amanda-users, it would be acceptable for me to get an out-of-office notification from Gene's system, but it is not acceptable for me to get them from any other users. I said I'd post a summary in a few days, but I realized that these systems typically send replies right away. Here's what was successfully delivered (I don't think any more were rejected at the MTA level).
