(When I check which Amanda listening sockets are open on my Lucid
machine configured for "bsd" auth, I get:
  $ netstat -a | grep amanda
  udp        0      0 *:amanda                *:*                               
 

Presumably when you have successfully made the switch to "bsdtcp" auth,
you should see "tcp" instead of "udp" there.)
