And ipv6 is probably defaulted to on, it is in the last downloads of the 
linuxcnc install of what is basically Kubuntu 10-04 LTS.  PITA if the rest 
of the system isn't ready as it will not look for or allow an ipv4 
connection!  That took some lead me by the hand hacking to get my lathe 
onto my local network.
