Aha!.  After I get a system working properly, it's likely that I'll go back
to reconfigure it armed with a bit more experience and understanding to
make use of these more advanced schemes.  For example, I now know that
amrecover can do this for me, assuming I have my config keep an index :)

You're right, and I see now how my understanding was a bit off the mark.  I
wasn't intending to run a separate config just to ensure full dumps on
Sundays, but I was under a misconception. Thanks for correcting that!
