Hello Mathias,

I was surprised to read how you felt about my last post. I did not mean
it as a criticism of you or your work at all!

I was not crying out in frustration, but listing problems I encountered,
Many of them had nothing to do with Amforth -- the Atmel IDE for
instance, or AVRdude problems. Arduino Uno serial programming
idiosyncracies, etc. I also referred to missteps I made. That's a
criticism of myself, not you.

You've done a tremendous job bulding this language. And should certainly
be proud. I think the fact that we speak different languages may be part
of the problem here, It is difficult to convey tone and intent online,
especially with a language difference.

I do believe it is helpful to give constructive feedback to developers
about problems encountered by users. If a developer wants feedback,
naturally.

If not, then that's fine, too. But it's hard to fix or improve
something if you don't hear what happens when a user tries to follow
instructions and fails.

I also offered to help -- again, only if you want. I am a former
software documentation specialist, and I thought that if you wanted, I
could help make things easier for new users. If you don't want that, I
understand completely. This is your project.

So please don't take any of what I wrote personally, or as a criticism.
It is not. I meant nothing personally negative about it,

And I believe any problems in the documentaton could be easily fixed if
you'd like me to work on that.

I still would also appreciate it if you (or someone else here) would
explain the questions I asked in my last post. They are not meant as
criticisms, just true questions related to how AMforth works. All FORTHs
are a little different, and I would just like to know how this one
handles these tasks:

1.) How do I upload .frt library files?
>
> 2.) Do the comments in those take up memory space?
>
> 3.) Where is the erase function for practice code, or do I have to
> re-flash a new version of AMFORTH every time to get rid of old code?

Thanks very much for your time and consideration Mathias. If this is
still frustrating for you then I will stop writing to this mailing list.

--Steve
