The problem is really that the old backup was not possible to
restore. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. I shouldn’t have
complained so much, since it doesn’t help, really. I just want
the program to ask before window closing in the future. I
reinstalled it and now it reads the new backups at least.

The best advice I can give you is backup backup backup.

I use an external USB hard drive to back up my work several
times a
day. Every time I have completed enough work that I don't want
to have
to do it over, I back up my data.

If I were in your situation, I would back up to another
computer on my
network and make dvd backups every day.
