Herman, a very useful and fast tool by Microsoft is robocopy.
It's 
included in Vista, for other Windows version you get it via
the Windows 
Resource Kit Tools from

There are some free GUIs for robocopy, e.g.

An overview over the robocopy syntax/options can be found,

with a simple batch file.
