Dan, For what is worth, my advice would be: please complain to Gary, I am sure he will explain few things to his employee. Billing departments of various companies can be sometimes annoying and I experienced it many times :-(, but I doubt if this is good reason to switch. After all you contact billing at most once a year when CC expires buy you are using the data everyday.
