Julian, it appears they have just registered the name which would
prevent you from using or referring to similar type name in your
charts. However, they may have qualified for a patent as Lehman did
for a concept as referenced in this article

However, it does not appear to state a patent number anywhere in its
material.

Any IP guru's here that could explain to what extent this kind of
patent would reach? Is just the Footprint name Trademarked or have
they actually patented the chart type? I.e. A coloured rectangle on
screen that shows bid vs ask price.
That seems fairly crazy to me, yet they license the idea out at $25
per user.
Is the candle patented? :)
