Hi Ronnie,

I'll try a SWAG.  I'don't think that the 6L6 is a drop-in replacement for the
6V6.

Maybe the 6L6 is not properly biased?  Have you tried a pair of 6V6's?

I imagine the tubes are running PP Class A and wonder if the plate to plate
resistances are the same.
