Hi OM...

When I did my last SX-28 I found a heating prblem in the audio also...  not 
outside of the norn really.  be sure to check the bias on those audio 
tubes... and the impedance of that replacement audio tranny...

My last one had a replaced power tranny and all the voltages were off...

Re-cap the machine... bypasses etc... and check all those screen resistors...  
awww heck... check all the components...  it is rather old enit??? :-)

these are fun radios and well worth the time...
