I'm pretty sure there is a nut between the chassis and the panel. I had 
success doing this (actually, replacing the main power switch) on a 
Viking I by removing the exterior nut, and "uscrewing" it by turning the 
switch body, and threading new switch back in the same way (but in 
reverse, of course!).

Anyone offering replacements needs to be aware that is is a DPST switch.
