THANK YOU for your reply.

But the fact that we have two entirely different, valid interpretations of
the same paragraph means - to me - that it needed to be more clearly
explained.

Clint K7LCS,

I suspect you are reading too much into the statement, or applying an
unintended interpretation to what was said/written.

In any hardware or software deployment, ham radio or otherwise, there can
never be enough testing.  That was my interpretation of the statement.

overall scheme of things, it allows AMSAT to have greater confidence in the
delivery of a thoroughly tested spacecraft by taking more time to allow for
unforeseen contingencies and to do the ground testing." -AMSAT-NA

You mean we were going to launch a project that was NOT already thoroughly
tested? AMSAT has a fiduciary responsibility to its donors to only launch
thoroughly tested projects.

Not quite sure what AMSAT-NA "meant" to say ... but this paragraph plainly
states that AMSAT might not have been able to provide a stable satellite to
the launch site on time anyway. It states that AMSAT might not be as
confident with a 2014 launch as they will be for a 2015 launch. What was
written states that the satellite is not ready for a
2014 launch.

If that IS the case, then we should all be relieved that it will not be
launching this year. If that is NOT the case, then AMSAT-NA needs someone to
proofread their releases before publishing.
