ok.. thx for the explanation..
you have mandriva 2006, so why don't you create the rpm and send it to me (after testing)...
easy to create it :
cd ~/amsn-095 && ./configure && make rpm
do it on the amsn-0.95.tar.gz from my website (tired of typing the damn url http://kakaroto.homelinux.net/amsn) and extract and build from that file please..

what's the big diff ?
I'd have to mark this mail OT if I'd explain all differences...

In short:
Mdv 10.2 == Mdk 10.1 with some packages updated.
Mdv 2006 == the first real 'Mandriva' (merged Mandrake and Conectiva) and with
many packages updated to new releases of course.

Anyway... Was the package tested on Mdv 10.2? So do we know if it works? Or is that just an assumption. In that case it might work on neither Mdv 10.2 nor
2006.

The error message suggests that the gcc version is the problem. Mdv 10.2 was built with GCC 3.4.3, Mdv 2006 is built with GCC 4.0.1. The package seems to
require 3.4.6. I don't know if it will allow 3.4.3 then, but it certainly
fails with 4.0.1.

Seems like the package requires version 3.4.6.
