Just because they are integrated doesn't mean you can't use them for
info. In my opinion, you should use some sort of serial key from the
motherboard - THAT barely gets changed ;). Also, if people complain "OMG
I just changed my mobo and now I have to enter my amsn password once
before it will remember me again" then I think that would be a little
too much of a complaint :)

If you use linux then try the "lshw" command; there are plenty of keys
in there that you could use as your encryption.

Just my two cents on the situation... People changing their motherboard
will often reload their system anyway, and it isn't exactly something
which you do every weekend ;)

actually I thought that HW are relatively changed often. I was more
thinking 
about the ethernet card... but I dunno, they're often integrated on the 
mainboard
