You were indeed correct, once I added the > to the command line, I got
"permission denied".
So what I did was just create the directories and index files manually, and
this seems to work fine as it allows Analog to run the stats.
This approach is fine as I can just create a Analog3.11 directory and
"index" file for each sub-host I create at setup time.
Now tho when I try to run Analog to process multiple logs, using the
CONFIGFILE call from the default "analog.cfg" I get the following error;
"Logfiles overlap: possible double counting"
Using "WARNINGS OFF" gets rid of the error messages alright, but the stats
produced for each domain seem to be including stats from the other domains
and thus they are not accurate.
Is it okay to call multiple CONFIGFILE files like so...?
CONFIGFILE /usr/local/etc/httpd/analog3.11/forager.cfg
CONFIGFILE /usr/local/etc/httpd/analog3.11/okanagan.cfg
CONFIGFILE /usr/local/etc/httpd/analog3.11/turtle.cfg
All the domains are essentially "sub-directories" of mine...
Is there some flag I'm missing to have it produce stats for the domain in
question rather than accumulating results?
