I mean what your boss said: "to go backwards and redo everything"
But I should also make clear that if you used to get a 15M weekly log
file on a single web server, and now you get a 1M daily log file on each
of 2 mirrored servers, then I'd assume that you've got all the traffic
you had before. If you had a 15M weekly log file before, and now you're
getting a 75K daily log file, then your traffic is off by a factor of
15. You haven't really specified this.
What does your HOURLY report look like for the last 24 hours, versus a
similiar report for any 24 hour period before the changes were made? Are
there any holes in it, that might indicate problems, or is the traffic
pattern over a typical day similiar to what it was before (in shape, if
not in volume).
Can you give us some indication of the kinds of numbers you are actually
talking about, before and after? Does your general summary indicate any
errors or excluded requests?
