Thanks for the feedback everyone. I guess you just have to take
referrers with a pinch of salt! If it's possible to set a referrer by
javascript then I could imagine sites being keen to promote new product
pages or sister sites in this way. And of course there's the "robots in
disguise" (... now where have I heard that before!)
