My current host (accessglobe.net) apparently has Analog set up to read and
write the same cache file when it runs daily. From looking at the
documentation, it seems that this is not supposed to be the way it's
designed to work. The result is a constantly growing cache file that is
cumulative from the day that my account was created. This, unfortunately,
is cutting into my disk quota every time that Analog runs.

There is a warning in the cache file not to delete it. The cache file
does seem to be written, though, each time that Analog runs, and is read
every time as well. In this case, would it do any harm to delete it, say,
once a month (since their log reports are done by month) and have it be
recreated?

I would ask them to fix this, but they haven't been too responsive to
requests to fix broken parts of their server configurations. I can,
however, set up a cron job to delete the cache file once a month if I know
that it's not going to screw up anything.

Thanks.
