Normally this is not possible. It's only possible if your ISP will let you
run programs on their server, not just upload files to your web space.
My ISP does allow running CGI, but I'm not sure about running Analog and Report Magic. The problem is getting them to install it (or even return calls and emails about it). It might take a couple of months to pin them down. They probably wouldn't want to do much tweaking, either. So I'm hoping there's a way to do this myself. I sent a question to the ISP, but they sometimes don't reply for days.
I've been downloading the logs and creating local reports using other software. As I mentioned, we do not want to do the log reports locally. We specifically want to create and store the reports on the server. We need to generate and store reports on the server on a scheduled basis (to view from there), then also email them out to a couple of people as well. Is this possible? If you have raw logs, just download the logs to your desktop machine, and analyse them there. Or try and get them to run analog for you, if they're willing to do this.
Again, the whole problem is that the ISP is too busy to be bothered to install Analog and Report Magic for us, and we don't want to run reports locally if there's another option. If it is possible to install it myself somehow, are there specific questions I should ask my ISP to prepare to install it myself?
