You shouldn't be using analog for DNS-lookups, so both questions are
irrelevant! Go to http://www.analog.cx/helpers/index.html and look at the
"DNS lookups" programs. I think it's best if the dnstran program rewrites
the log files. That way you can use DNS OFF in your analog.cfg and it will
run the fastest.

Once you've made the changes, you'll find a run of analog is over in a
matter of seconds, and that the DNS-lookup phase will be over much quicker
as well.
