Stephen and Klaus suggested:

I should have mentioned... I did try REFALIAS, and it did indeed fix up the
appearance of the referrer report. But it also broke all the hyperlinks to
referrers.

I tried using REFALIAS to translate it, and then using a subsequent
REFREPALIAS to change the visual formatting back into a question mark, but
it seems that the hyperlink is generated after REFALIAS but before
REFREPALIAS so this didn't work either.

Is there any way to get the referrer report okay without breaking the
hyperlinks?
