Hello People,

I have a strange filesize problem.

On a RedHat-7.2, I've written a couple of scripts, that split up httpd logs into files
for each year.

Now the file for 2003 grew larger than 2GB. Not a problem so far, I got no errors
while creating the file with cronosplit, cat, gzip, some special perl filters, etc.

It looks like that now:
[root somedir../2003]# ls -lart
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2417269114 Jun 5 02:09 access.log.gz

The "file" command terminates with:

[root somedir../2003]# file access.log.gz
access.log.gz: can't stat `access.log.gz' (Value too large for defined data type).

When I want to analyze it with analog, it fails silently like the
following:

[root somedir../2003]# time /usr/bin/analog -q -G
+g/export/lib/analogrmagic/analog.cfg -Oanalog.dat access.log.gz

real 0m0.016s
user 0m0.020s
sys 0m0.000s

That means it doesn't even try to analyze it.

Somebody already had this problem? Is it resolvable through
recompilation of analog only? Or can't I use such large files with it,
even when the underlying OS partly supports such large files?

Any pointers, help and benefit appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Greetings Nicolai
