I've run a smaller report for xhtml output and get this as the range:

Program started at Mon-31-Oct-2005 22:22.
Analysed requests from Thu-01-Sep-2005 06:46 to Fri-30-Sep-2005 17:35 (29.45
days).

here's the section from mu cfg file that is relevant:

# If you need a LOGFORMAT command (most people don't -- try it without
first!),
# it must go here, above the LOGFILE commands.
# LOGFILE logfile.log
#LOGFORMAT MICROSOFT-NA
LOGFILE M:\logs\councilnet\W3SVC5\query\ex05120*.log
#LOGFORMAT MS-EXTENDED
OUTPUT XHTML #COMPUTER
OUTFILE Report.dat
HOSTNAME "councilnet"
HOSTURL "http://intranet.york.gov.uk/";
#
# You probably don't need to change anything below this until you are
# experienced.
#
FROM 051201:0001
TO 051209:2359

note that I've requested from 1st to 9th dec 05, scanning only those files

is there a way to get analogue to read these dates in a specific format?

That's because IIS5 doesn't use Microsofts old logfile format by default, so
LOGFORMAT MICROSOFT-NA and LOGFORMAT MICROSOFT-INT aren't usually relevant
for IIS5.

That's the default for IIS5.

Before you do anything else, change the OUTPUT to XHTML, and look at the
results in default Analog format. If you aren't seeing the same behaviour,
then you'll need to take your question up on the ReportMagic mailing list.
Note that the Analog Report should show you the date range that it is
reporting on on the 3rd line at the top of the report.

If you are seeing the same problem in the standard Analog output, add the
First Date and Last Date columns to your Request Report, and sort the
report by First Date.

OUTPUT XHTML
OUTFILE report.html
REQCOLS RPbed
REQSORTBY FIRSTDATE

This will help to give you some sort of handle on what's actually going on.

This isn't necessary - Analog will recognizee this by default
