I believe that means the emulator is still starting up. It starts with ANDROID for a while, I think the first time can take a while.
After that you should get the Android with the green android logo glowing for a little while, then after that it should go into standard operation, though it will be "locked" and you'll have to hit the menu button to get to the home screen.
