That may be so but it hasn't stopped federal judges from sending people to jail for federal tax evasion. Al Capone, one of the worst mobsters from the United States prohibition era (around the 1920's) and who killed a lot of people, was sent to Alcatraz on a life sentence for tax evasion. You hear that? TAX E-VA-SION. He wasn't convicted for all the murders he committed or for all the illegal alcohol he sold, smuggled or trafficked, but rather for his tax evasion crime. I guess his lawyers never saw the "Zeitgeist The Movie" or else they could have argued that the federal government did not have a right to collect taxes (sarcasm intended). Do yourselves a favor and pay your taxes.
