Hey Michael, very cool!! For me, this is definitely a winner. I think -from what I can tell from the video- does actually take social networking to the next level, the mobile level: MySpace and all that stuff is fine, but the next step would be to make it location based. I think Duo does exactly that, and in a nice, polished way.
Of course, there's always room for improvements, but hey.. this is only round one. two thumbs up!
