Chris for a winner your really an idiot. I would not say anything else before they reject your submission.
http://forums.construx.com/blogs/stevemcc/archive/2008/03/27/productivity-variations-among-software-developers-and-teams-the-origin-of-quot-10x-quot.aspx "Excel took 50 staff years to produce 649,000 lines of code. Lotus 123 took 260 staff years to produce 400,000 lines of code." More importantly Lotus did have a billion dollars of investment and did sell plenty of copies. So it exceeded its value long ago. Not that any specific project matters because the point is that good software does not sell sometimes. Just look as OS/2 Warp and BEOS. You can try to create bloat software like Lotus was or try to fake value purposely, but I haven't. Also, OS/2 Warp and BEOS had some serious investment just not enough.
