Not really sure who this is aimed at.

For developers it's too trivial, for users of course you'd use
Tasker :)

>From AppInventor:

"You can write apps that use the phone features of an Android phone.
You can write an app that periodically texts "missing you" to your
loved ones, or an app "No Text While Driving" that responds to all
texts automatically with "sorry, I'm driving and will contact you
later". You can even have the app read the incoming texts aloud to you
(though this might lure you into responding)."

In Tasker's GUI:

Profile: Sweetheart SMS
Time: 11.00 - 20.00 Repeat 15 Mins
        Task:
                Variable Randomize: %COUNT 0,100
Send SMS: To: 0123456779 Body: Love You! [If %COUNT =
1]
Send SMS: To: 0123456779 Body: Miss You! [If %COUNT =
2]

Profile: No Text While Driving
Event: SMS Received From: Any BodyMatch: Any
Task: Send SMS, To: %SMSFR Message: sorry I'm driving...

Profile: Read Texts While Driving
        State: BT Connected: Name: Cardock
Event: SMS Received From: Any BodyMatch: Any
        Task: Say: Text: %SMSRB

I hope this is informational more than advertational :)
