It also waste me a lot of time. But as you know, you can implement
XMPP in other way such as using smack.

Since GTalk service API was removed, of course no one can use it. But
it doesn't mean no one are using XMPP.

I think GTalk service is removed not because they wont work on real
device.

I believe a couple ones are using XMPP. At least I use it for IMEasy.

I think google didn't have any clue that they will surely remove GTalk
service a couple of months ago either.

I don't think you lose advantage. If you really have faith in
BabelFish. Then don't give it up!
