It's been awhile since I've used WireShark, so can't give you an exact answer, sorry.

What I'd do is capture on the host computer interface, and filter by remote port number.

I'd also do a sanity check first, by using the web browser in the emulator.

If the error you're getting happens the instant you step over http.execute(), then it would imply there is something wrong with the request, and it's not even getting sent.
