I used something "unandroidy" that seemed to strike a positive cord with my users.
In the menu button, I put an "End App" option. All it does is call "finish()" - the same as pressing the back key. I had so many complaints that there was no way to end the app that I added this option. Since then, I haven't had any complaints. I've even had some positive feedback in the comments about "the only app having a way to end it." I'm guessing that a large percentage of users don't know how to use the Android device as it was intended. Perhaps the carriers should force all new buyers to sit in front of an instructional 10 minute video before handing over this complex and intricate device. That might make things easier for all. Even seasoned users are going to be finding new things that should be obvious. I've been carrying around an Android device for over 18 months and just recently found out that a long press on the menu button brings up a list of "recent" apps. While cool, that wasn't obvious. I never saw that 10 minute instructional video either... -John Coryat -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
