Meanwhile, back in RL, my experience is that I get 1-stars for *not* adding such functions when there are competing apps available that have done it. If the developers of Android don't want people using particular functions in a stock ROM they need to put a permission on them. If it's just 'hidden' the profit motive means someone will use it and everyone else has to follow.
