Yes, I've seen fluctuations here, but also don't know all the factors. True. This is one data point. When I had exactly 1000 downloads, I was just above many apps that said 500-1000 and just below many apps that said 1000-5000. At that point, it seemed that total installs was the only thing determining ranking. But as one gets closer to the top This is what I can do to help the community. I'll report back next month on how many installs I get from keyword search vs category browse vs related apps. This will only reflect my own apps but it should tell people something.
