I haven't done any inapp billing yet, but a survey indicates there might be a decent "Accessory" market for my app, and I may be licensing content from a third party. So now I need to figure out if in app billing is worthwhile.
This involves large binaries (50-80 Megabytes), so some server side support would be helpful. For those who have done in app billing, how are things? Does it work reliably? Was implementing it a major pain? What server side solution are you using? Homespun? Third party? Is it giving you lots of support headaches? I have looked at Urban Airship's solution. http://urbanairship.com/products/in-app-purchase/ It looks promising, and I would adopt it to save time. But I can't even evaluate it without the SDK. Support's messages have been inconsistent. They say: 1. It is beta. 2. But it's ready for production use. 3. They give access to the beta SDK in batches, and they will consider me for the next round.
